Annual Trust Dinner Success Back to archive
26th February 2016

This year’s Benenden School Trust Annual Dinner was held on Monday 22 February 2016 at Drapers' Hall in London.

This special evening allows us to formally thank our generous donors for their support of the School and to introduce potential new donors to the important work of the Trust.

The 200 guests enjoyed a wonderful evening and were updated on the progress of the School's exciting Centenary Vision - our 10-year development plan - and the building projects which are pivotal to delivering the educational vision.

The evening featured performances by the School’s Lime Ave Jazz Band and the Senior Folk Group, whose interpretations of James Bond songs in between courses were very well received.

The occasion included speeches from some of the senior Sixth Form students as well as Chairman of Governors Charles Covell and Headmistress Samantha Price.

During her speech, Mrs Price unveiled the latest Centenary Vision film.

Mrs Price said: “We have so much to be proud of at Benenden, a school where we aspire to offer complete excellence in the education we provide within the classrooms, within the boarding houses and through every aspect of our co-curricular provision.

“This is, of course, all made possible by the inspirational and dedicated people who work within and in support of our community to facilitate the development of your girls who never to cease to amaze and inspire those of us who work here. Thank you for your support and I hope that you believe that our development plans are effective and most importantly fit to take Benenden forward into the future.”

Guests also heard from Stephen Green, who was performing his final duty after eight successful years as Chairman of the Trust. The new chairman was announced as current Benenden parent and Trustee Julian Metherell.

Mr Green thanked everyone he had worked with at the Trust over the years and said: “This is a very special occasion for the Trust. We wish to thank our donors for their generous support of Benenden. Without their support the impressive developments that have been achieved, and continue to be achieved, at the School simply would not be possible.”
