Assistant Receptionist (Part-Time Term-Time)

We are looking to recruit a part-time Assistant Receptionist commencing 31 August 2018.

This position requires an enthusiastic and organised person with sound IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and email) who is keen to work in a friendly and co-operative team.  An excellent telephone manner and presentation are also essential and previous office experience is desirable.

The Assistant Receptionist’s responsibilities include but are not limited to; answering the School’s telephone in a professional manner, handling enquiries (internal and external), directing the caller to the appropriate person/department and passing on messages, logging student absences including those from lessons, greeting visitors and signing them into the Visitor’s Book and issuing Visitor badges, assisting the School Receptionist with incoming and outgoing post and courier deliveries, photocopying, franking post, filing and ad hoc duties as specified by the School Office Manager.

The hours for this part-time term-time position are 2.30pm-6.00pm Monday to Wednesday and 8.30am-12.00pm on Saturday.  

Benenden is one of the leading boarding schools in Britain. We were founded in 1923 and are situated in 250 acres of attractive parkland in Kent. There are 556 girls in the school, aged 11-18, with approximately 180 of those in the Sixth Form. Benenden is at the forefront of girls’ education in the UK, with recent innovations including the Benenden Diploma, a bespoke curriculum for our youngest two year groups, and the Professional Skills Programme, teaching the Sixth Form skills for the workplace. We are an ambitious school, with recent developments including a state-of-the-art Science Centre and All-Weather Sports Pitch, and we are currently working to establish a new School Hall and Music School.

Meals are provided to staff whilst on duty. The School’s leisure facilities, including a fitness gym and swimming pool are available for staff to use.
