As a School we get regular coverage in the local and national media for our academic, sporting and extra-curricular activities. See some of it below:

July 2018: Microlight Project

Over the past year some girls were building a Microlight plane that was flown in July.

April 2018: Amber Rudd Visits

In April former Home Secretary Amber Rudd MP visited to answer questions from Benenden pupils.

March 2018: Conference for Heads

In March we hosted our first Conference for Heads - in which representatives from 50 different schools joined us for a day discussing issues that are pertinent to the sector. 

January 2018: Symphony Orchestra perform with Tasmin Little

Our Symphony Orchestra performed with world-renowned violinist Tasmin Little at a special concert at Drapers’ Hall, London, in a joint concert between the School and the English-Speaking Union (ESU), an international educational charity.

January 2018: Ten years of MUN at Benenden

In December we also celebrated the tenth consecutive year of hosting Benenden MUN as part as the MUN calendar of conferences.

January 2018: Dr David Starkey visits Benenden

In December Dr David Starkey visited the School to give a lecture.

December 2017: STEM Conference

In December we hosted our first ever STEM Conference here at the School.

August 2017: GCSE results

GCSE results were excellent again at the School this year - 53 per cent of all of the School's GCSEs were graded at A*.

August 2017: A Level results

There were another set of strong A Level results for the School this year, with 26 per cent of grades being an A*.

July 2017: First graduates of the Benenden diploma

The first girls graduated with the Benenden diploma - a bespoke curriculum for our Fourths and Upper Fourths.

March 2017: We are the champions!

In March we won the highest honour in schools Lacrosse - the Rathbones National Schools Lacrosse Championships after a dramatic two days of competition at Guildford's Surrey Park.

March 2017: Benenden complete the 'Phone Fast'

The phone fast was a huge success - with it set to become a regular event.

February 2017: Benenden announces 'Phone Fast'

The School announced a phone fast in the Spring Term which would see mobile phones and social media not available for pupils for three days to help them reduce their reliance on digital technology.

November 2016: Countess of Wessex opens Benenden Community Shop

HRH Countess of Wessex visited Benenden to open the Community Shop - the premises of which the School own.

September 2016: Apprentice Star launches new Professional Skills Programme

Dr Margaret Mountford, one of Lord Sugar's original advisers on The Apprentice, visited the School in September to launch the new Professional Skills Programme. As well as launching the programme and offering the girls careers advice her views on tattoos also made the headlines!

September 2016: New All-Weather Sports Pitch and Pavilion opened

TV personality Davina McCall opened the stunning new All-Weather Sports Pitch and Pavilion on 10 September. The same day eight units of new staff housing were opened on site. These were the first two projects of the School's Centenary Vision development programme.

August 2016: Benenden perform at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe

In August a group of 13 students took their performance of Frogs - a modern musical version of Aristophanes's ancient Greek comedy - to the world-famous Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It was the first time the School had ever been represented at the Fringe, which is the largest arts festival in the world.

July 2016: Benenden School edition of Monopoly is launched

In July a unique Benenden School edition of Monopoly was launched thanks to the efforts of two students.

June 2016: School releases first ever commercial CD

June saw the School release of the School's first ever commercial CD - an 80-minute long interpretation of Stabat Mater - a 13th century text which portrays Mary’s suffering following Christ’s crucifixion.

May 2016: The Queen's 90th Birthday Celebration

The School appeared in the official commemorative publication for The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration which took place at Windsor Castle in May.

April 2016: The Benenden Arts Festival
