Benenden School > School Life

In this section you will find information on many aspects of the School, from making your first visit, to Admissions requirements; balancing the details of our academic success with the importance we place on pastoral care; through to Sixth Form life and beyond to Higher Education. For students at Benenden, finding activities to fill their time is not a difficult task. All students have the chance to acquire and develop their enthusiasms and abilities away from the formal curriculum and so develop lifelong interests.

Most students benefit from the long list of extras available, including musical instrument tuition or extra sports coaching. Clubs and societies, many set up by the students, are an intrinsic part of the programme. We have many opportunities for performance, whether as a member of one of the musical ensembles, choirs or orchestras, drama or dance groups; there are art and design clubs and a considerable array of sports clubs. Academic opportunities range from mathematics and science clubs to formal debating, poetry, literature, modern languages, classics, current events and the environment. Many students work towards the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
