Harpenden Tennis Tournament

Twelve girls representing Benenden competed at the Harpenden Tennis Tournament in the U19, U16 and U14 events.

The girls, as usual were a credit to themselves and the School. Benenden U19 pair, Sarah Cantlay and Nicole Zachariah beat Millfield 'B' in the semi-final 6-1 7-6. An excellent result and a first for Benenden, beating the best girls tennis academy in the country. We then had an amazing final against Millfield 'A', narrowly losing 6-4 3-6 7-10 (in the match tie-break). So close.......!

The U19 'B' pair, Lucy Cantlay and Sarah Sweerts lost in the final of the plate against St Albans High.

The U16 'A' pair, Isabelle Clifton-Brown and Eleanor Worsley lost in the quarter final to a very strong Queenswood 'A', and the Under 16 'B' pair, Emily Weighton and Annabel Edwards lost in the quarter final to Sevenoaks 'A' who were eventual winners.

The U14 pairs were less successful but had a good day and gained experience. The U14 'A' pair were Camilla Hoare and Tali Lawrence, The 'B' pair were Zoe Barrington and Emma Buisseret who lost in the semi-final of the plate to Sevenoaks.

Congratulations to all those involved
