Maintenance Electrician

Benenden School is an independent boarding school for girls, founded in 1923 and situated in 240 acres of beautiful parkland in rural Kent. At present, there are 540 girls in the School. A considerable amount of new building has been completed in recent years, including a Study Centre (Library and classrooms), Theatre and a state of the art Science Centre. Recently opened is an all-weather pitch, Sports Pavilion and staff housing.

We are looking to recruit a talented, enthusiastic and dynamic electrician to join our Facilities & Estates team, all of whom work closely and collaboratively in a busy educational and boarding community. 

Maintenance Electrician

The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for all aspects of electrical maintenance at Benenden School, providing support to the Estates Supervisor ensuring day to day electrical issues are resolved and all systems run efficiently across the School.

The following skills and experience are essential:

  • Electrical – City & Guilds Apprenticeship, 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
  • Practical experience/knowledge of working in a residential/commercial environment
  • Multi skilled with relevant experience in building maintenance
  • Ability to analyse single/ 3 phase electrical drawings
  • Excellent practical fault finding experience

City & Guilds Testing & inspection (2391/2392 or 2394/2395) is desirable. Experience of working in a boarding school or similar environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

Salary will be dependent upon experience, circa £24,000 per annum.
